The League of Nations 1930s

In our history class, we were told to see a video and answer this questions.

The Manchurian Crisis.
How does the video open? What might the connection between the League and the opening scenes in Poland be?

The first scenes in the video is Poland being invaded aggressively, its the beginning of the second world war. Everything the League tried to do was a disaster and everything failed.

 

What problems did Japan face? (Mention ALL of them)

One problem was the booming, there were more mouths than they could feed. They did not had every natural resources they needed and they were isolated from the powerful countries.

What was the role of the army in Japan?

The army controlled the education.
What did army leaders believe Japan needed?

The army thought that expanding to Asia would be a good idea, because they needed some natural resources like oil that Japan didn’t had.

What was the value of Manchuria?

Manchuria had the materials Japan needed, the needed oil and coal.

What happened at Mudken?
What did the League do about it?

After China entered to the League, they decided Japan should leave Manchuria.
What was Japan’s reaction to the decision of the League?

Japan didn’t like the idea of The League and  ignored it and they kept Manchuria , the league lost all the respect and power in this act.
